The studio
Fewer things. Better made.
Morrow is an independent design studio in Brooklyn. We make a small collection of objects for the desk and the rooms around it — the kind of things that are used every day and noticed only when they are missing.

Our story
Brooklyn, NY
Est. 2019
We started with a lamp. A friend had bought a beautiful one that flickered, could not be repaired, and had a plug that did not fit her apartment. It felt like a small, avoidable failure.
So we made a version that did the boring things well: a weighted base, a dimmer that works at the low end, a bulb you can replace, a cord that is long enough. It took a year. It is still the object we sell most of.
That process became the studio. We do not start with a mood board. We start with a list of complaints, then try to design something that answers them without adding a new one. The result is a collection that grows slowly — ten objects in six years — and a lot of things we decided not to make.
Made in small batches
We work with a handful of small manufacturers in Portugal, North Carolina and New York. They are not the cheapest quotes we received. They are the ones who could make the samples we wanted, at a scale where the details still get looked at.
Everything ships from our studio in Brooklyn, packed in recycled paper and board. No plastic tape, no foam inserts, no “unboxing experience” that ends up in a bin.

What we believe
“The best object is the one you stop noticing, until the day it is gone.”
Morrow Studio
Useful first
Every object starts with a job. If it does not do that job better than what already exists, it does not leave the studio.
Materials that age
Oak, steel, stoneware, wool. We choose materials that can be repaired and that look better after a few years of use, not worse.
Repair over replace
We keep spare parts and publish care instructions. A loose hinge or a worn cord should be a small fix, not a reason to buy again.
